What It Takes To Master The Martial Arts
You must have faith in your style, for without a firm belief in your system, you can lose interest, and mastery will become impossible.
You must also respect your Sensei, for they have accepted you as their student, so you must recognize them for their knowledge and ability, strive to be like them.
You must concentrate during training, because this will lead you to mastery of your system.
Have patience during training and you will reach your goal in good time.
Practice as much as possible not just in the Dojo but at home. Consistent practice of application of knowledge will lead you to mastery.
Sensei's expect lots of dedication from their students, and through this, students discover that the longer they study with their sensei, the more secret aspects will be taught to them. The master will teach you certain techniques in time, if you dedicate yourself to what you've already been shown.
You can insult your sensei by undervaluing their lesson, if you do not practice it to perfection.
If you just practice a little then want to learn something new, you are indicating you don't appreciate their instruction.
Remember, the sensei knows what you need to develop, so be ready to learn new techniques they show you, then take them and work on mastering them!
